Happy Anniversary

to us! This is our First Wedding Anniversary and had an amazing weekend. Since we are taking a vacation in the summer we did not want to do anything to big, but did want to do something with the ones we love. So Sunday we picked up the in laws and some friends and headed South to a Seafood Festival.

We had a great time and the weather was amazing!

DIY Car Seat Cover

No No we are not expecting but we do have a new little blessing to the family. A beautiful baby girl born on Monday March 1 and when I saw this project over at Simply Designing I had to try it for her. Its a canopy for her car seat. This will be great to avoid the sun and keep it nice and quiet when she is sleeping.

I am in love with the fabric she choose, but her brother loves Elmo and all of her bedding is of baby Zoe. So I am thinking the outside one of a large print of baby Zoe in a bright color and then a Contrast color inside. I need a total of 4 coordinating fabrics and am trying my best to stay under $15.

Ruffle heaven

As I'm sure you can tell I love ruffles, I think they are just so pretty and girly. For the last few weeks I have been in search for a new purse, either black 0r Ivory/cream. Since Spring is right around the corner I think I might lean towards a light color.

Even if I had that kind of money to spend on a bag, I'm not loving the studs in the middle and the tiny handles. We made it home

after a week in New York city. The hubster had a business trip and I decided to go visit him, but boy am I glad to be home. Its rained the first 2 days, then snowed the last 3 days and thenhubster was sick the last 2 days. All I can say is it feels sooooooo good to be home.

Since this was not a vacation I really tried not to spend unnecessary money so that we can save for our real vacation that is soon approaching us. However I had some birthday money left over and was able to do some major shopping at this AMAZING store called H&M. I bought a pair of skinny jeans, a pair or boot cut (for my casual sandal day), a dress skirt, a navy blue knee length dress with a ruffle neckline (for only $9.95!!!), a few different solid color tops, A long denimcolor button down shirt with a belt, a pair of navy blue shorts, 2 rings, and 1 necklace and all for (drum roll please)....... $140!!!!! Yes... all under $150, just amazing.

love these zipper ruffle flats

Lindy at Craftaholics found these flats on clearance and worked her magic by adding a zipper ruffle zipper. How adorable is that??!?! I can not wait to see her tutorial to try it out on these flats that I found at Target a few weeks back for $5. Here are some of her other great DIY accessories that she has incorporated zippers Flower Tutorial Zipper Necklace Mhhhh... I have a few white zippers left over from our living room pillows and silver silk ribbon from our wedding that this might be my next project. Go check out her blog, its a crafters paradise! Our Bathroom

has been a nightmare. 

To start off it was old, leaking everywhere, full of rust and pink. Not the walls painted in pink, no that would have been too easy... The tub, wall tiles, sink, towel holder, and did I mention the roof?!?!?

Let me just show you the pictures that I found this morning on my computer so that you can have an idea

 

Do you see the flowers on top of the toilet? I tried my best to make it pretty, but that was not cutting it.  

America's ugliest bathroom! But that was not stopping us, my amazing dad offered to help us and we went at it in a weekend.... First tear down ALL the walls including the roof (poor hubster, he wanted to kill me), then install all the new plumbing, new electrical outlets, dry wall, roof, New tub, Tile, paint, vanity, toilet and accessories and lighting fixtures. Lighting was very limited so we added a fixture on the roof. Here are some before an after shoots (Sorry the pictures are not that good of quality, this was over 2 years ago). 

 

UPDATE: 3 months ago a pipe burst under the house and we had to redo the ENTIRE bathroom and the only things that we were able to save was the vanity and accessories. I will take a few pictures over the weekend and post. We kept everything the same except did not install the multi-color wall boarder tile in the bathroom.
